Home Again, Home Again

istar.jpgIstar is home from the vet and doing very well. He seems to like his medicine, which is completely opposite of Hobbit’s experience. It took three of us to get Da Hob to take hers; one person to hold her, one person to hold her mouth in place, and one person to squirt the medicine. Little Guy, on the other hand, has to be removed from the medicine bottle, lest he drink it all at once; a much better problem to have. :elf:

There’s a bit too much jumping around from him, and Hobbit’s not taking his return as well as I’d liked, but I’m pretty sure she missed him while he was gone, as she cried a bit at bedtime when he wasn’t here. Now that he’s less likely to attack her a hundred times a day, I think they’ll be fine once he gets the smell of the vet off of him.

I’m still waiting to hear from Ben as to whether he’s going to make it down today or not, and I guess I’ll just keep picking up as if he is :flake:

I Do!

whologo.jpgWow, oh wow! I just thoroughly enjoyed the Doctor Who 2006 Christmas Special, The Runaway Bride. I’m still not a huge Ten fan, but I can tell I’m going to enjoy the show much more without Ten and Rose together. I’ll miss Rose, but now I can pretend that she’s in Nineland living happily ever after. Yes, I know that completely negates the point of The Doctor, but it’s my fantasy, so nya. While this special was tons (and tons) of fun, there is a serious problem starting to show with The Doctor, and as much as I don’t have a huge attachment to Tennant, I *still* have my worries for The Doctor. What I do NOT want to see is DW begin to get as dark as Torchwood (aka, the Non-Captain Jack show). I count on my DW being a good blend of silly and serious (yeah, maybe with a bend toward silly), and though I appreciate The Doctor’s burden, I don’t want to see him consumed by it. 😮

For a holiday hoot, I highly, highly recommend this one to everyone. Happy Returns Day!

Merry Christmas

zune1.jpgOnce again, I’ve received more than I deserved. I am currently enjoying ‘s Narnia vid “Brother, Let Go” on my incredibly cool Zune, color black. Heh.

As usual, my mom and dad went all out on the gifts and bought not only the Zune, but several accessories to go with it. In about 20 minutes, I had nearly all of my favorite vids loaded. The quality is actually much better than I had heard it would be. I have noticed that my vids made larger than standard look better, but it’s because the screen is actually a little bigger than 320×240. All the fanvids I’ve put on it (about 50 so far) look and sound terrific. I’ve even decided to carry a purse so I can tote my Zune around with me at all times. I’m love it.

In addition to the Zune and accessories, I got the Wizardology book to match my Egyptology and Dragonology books, an encyclopedia of Ancient Egypt, Borders gift card, Wal-Mart gift card, Lowe’s gift card, sweater, several pairs of argyle socks *geeks out*, a banana leaf platter, caramel-pear candle, indoor/outdoor thermometer, fleece pullover in school colors, cash, candy, extra lint roller, a pail of Smore’s goodies, and a truly indescribable gift from my dad. Mom said I’d give it away as soon as I saw it, but how I could I ever abandon my new baby gorilla?!? It’s going to scare the hell out of Hobbit and Istar, but it really is a cute little thing. We’re still LOL about it. I know I’ve left out some gifts, but I’ll update to include them.

Merry Christmas, everyone, and thanks for being the great friends you are!

Simplify

In the spirit of new year, new beginnings, and whatnot, I’ve decided to simplify my site. Of course, if you’re not using an updated browser, I can’t guarantee your results here. Oh, and I’m not catering to the needs of the 800×600 crowd here, either.
