It’s All Science

You know what I’ve found? When I have vid recs in the queue for Fanvid-Recs, I feel too guilty to post here. I just added six recs and now I feel free.

I’m watching S2E2 of Torchwood and if it’s as good as S2E1, I’m going to be very glad. Others have said plenty about James Marsters’ trip to Cardiff, and I don’t have much to add, but I’ll agree with the fact that there seems to be an abundance of Jack kissing this series, and, well, YAY! I wasn’t the biggest fan of Series 1, but so far, so good.

I’m in a bit of a conundrum with regards to my television viewing schedule for tonight; new Project Runway/premiere of RW/RR Challenge: The Gauntlet III . I can’t stay up until midnight to watch both, but I can’t pick which one to watch tonight. It really is like Sophie’s Choice. Really.

Oh, one more thing.  PRODUCT WARNING:  Do NOT buy Pillsbury Reduced Fat Cinnamon Rolls.  It’s like someone took some plain canned biscuits to a class of kindergarteners and let them shove little chunks of cinnamon into them with their paws.  Blech.  The name alone-Cinnamon ROLLS- suggests, I dunno, ROLLS of some kind.  I don’t get it.

Prepare for battle!

Monster.com’s latest television ad is genius. As a whole town mobilizes for war in the dark, complete with dramatic music and promise of epic battle, we see that it is MONDAY they are fighting. Heh. Good, no, GREAT stuff. I love that one.

What a week we had last week! Monday was pretty ordinary; benchmark testing at school. Tuesday was great, as I spent nearly all of the day with my seniors. Wednesday I got to spend a small sliver of time with Ben and Jonas before a great class at MU. I feared that class, but I now think it’s going to be fine. *whew* Thursday was a snowday. Whoo! Friday was a counselor collaboration meeting, and though only two schools could make it in, we covered a huge amount of ground and I feel great about it.

I have a salon appointment today and I’m thinking of cutting my hair short again. I’m tired of the pseudo-Carter cut and now that Amanda Tapping has grown her hair out, I know I definitely don’t want to follow suit. I think I’ll try to go Yoanna style, Cycle 2 of ANTM. (Stop rolling your eyes, Ben!)

My cousin Ashley and her husband Caleb are due here any minute to learn all about the fascinating world of web design and I’ve made graphs, visual aids, and step-by-step instructions. We’ll see how good they are when Ashley either A) makes her own site or B) goes bald from pulling out her hair.

What’s New?

I’m addicted to podcasts. I’m extra-addicted to Ricky Gervais’ podcasts. I’ve looped all the ones available at the Zune Marketplace and now I’ve found there are literally hundreds more out there. Well, I found that out yesterday and today I’m syncing them to my Zune (which is now named HobStar). Even Scott likes to listen to them on the way home from work. Yay!!

Work is starting to kick up as it always does this time of year. I’m getting anxious again, what with scholarships, graduation, scheduling, etc. coming up.

Make Me A Supermodel is fun. I’m liking it. I think if I stay away from the LOST fanatics, I’ll give it another shot when it starts up in three weeks. Maybe I can find the love I had for it in Season 1 and pretend the last two seasons never really happened.

That’s it for us. Anything new out there?

You, Sir!

sween.jpg You, Sir, should see Sweeney Todd. Yes, there is gore, but it’s more of a theatrical sort; not too bad. Oh, and yes, it sometimes feels like “Willy Scissorhands Sparrow”. There is, however, one sequence where Depp transcends everything he’s ever done and becomes the face of madness. The street sequence may possibly be my favorite scene of the year; hell, of the decade! I’m not normally one to swoon over him, but in that moment of crazed desire for vengeance, I can see the attraction.

Thanks, Flo, for dragging me to Beckley to see the movie. I’m thrilled that I did.

Seconds, anyone?   :smoke:
