I’ve been having a “twitch moment” after the last several episodes of True Blood and now I’m just going to stay it aloud, “True Blood is boring.”
I’m trying to think of the show as someone who has not read the books and I still find it boring. Oddly enough, the parts I find boring are the ones that are not in the books, though I didn’t find the books all that *exciting*. I would think that the point of adding things in would be to spice it up. The whole Jason/Fellowship of the Sun plotline (not in the book), Maryann/Sam plotline (mentioned in the book for like, two seconds, and very unlike how it is on the show), Layfayette storyline (uh, dead in the book, though I would love to see him even more on the show), and the Bill/Lorena flashbacks (hell to the no) are repetitive, drawn out, and unnecessary. I hope we get a little more action infused into the series because the “slow burn” of the first book won’t work so much with the rest of the book series without seriously killing the mood. If you look at the storyboard on the left, you’ll see that nearly every random snapshot had captured a BORING scene. This show has actually made wild orgies boring. Imagine that!
