People, please. This is not a spoiler. One of the best known love stories of all time is that of Arthur and Guinevere. For a show, which features each of them, to have them kiss is, again, not a spoiler, nor is it out of place.
Merlin fandom is so fun, and I hope the shipper wars don’t tear the fandom apart. It’s no secret that in this telling of the legend, I think myself a Lancelot/Gwen fan, but the actors playing Arthur and Gwen looked their very best in “The One and Future Queen” and I can see this working out now. They each gave their best performance of the series, and I was very relieved to see how it played out.
So, yeah, just to recap: Not a spoiler.

Really? Are the fans that wacky to go off over something like that? What’s gonna happen when Gwen cheats on Arthur? Ooops, did I say too much?
I know!
Nah, they’re being pretty cool about it; most of the negative comments were along the lines of, “But it’s too soon,” so it wasn’t that bad.
The Merlin/Arthur shippers are the ones most angered by the episode, though in no way are Arthur and Gwen an item yet.
I can see being upset over spoilers if they took things in a whole new way like Merlin/Gwen or Morgan/Lance.
Then it’d be like anything goes and full of surprises. And for all the progress being made on gay fronts I doubt we’ll be seeing any slash retcons for any fandoms anytime soon, sad to say.
Have you not seen Merlin? The shippers aren’t delusional; there is plenty of subtext. As far as actual gay storylines, I think most of my shows could add them, but they tend to avoid all romance.
Nope, just that one ep you showed me. I wonder if maybe the shows we watch have a lot of gay dudes on the writing staff. Since they can’t write that they just avoid romance in general, or just make it generic if they have to add it in. I had hopes for Parkman/Mohinder but that wasn’t meant to be.
