In case I don’t get a chance to see you today, I hope it’s a wonderful day, and an even better year!

Months later, while at dinner with my mom at a new restaurant, my lovely waiter reappeared and I was overjoyed. Every Wednesday my mom and I would go to that restaurant and I was able to at least catch a glimpse of him, until one day, he was no more.

It’s been a while now since I saw him, but last night, my luck changed! While eating at yet a different restaurant, in a glorious return, was my waiter, Donnie. Like a twelve year old, I actually blushed profusely after ordering my drink. Seriously. Mom could only laugh at me, which she did; a lot. Looks like I’ll be eating a lot more at Applebee’s, which is kind of unfortunate, as I don’t really like the food all that much. Heh.

I guess it’s nice to have random people the world to fawn over and stalk appreciate. Who knows? Maybe one day I’ll be someone’s Donnie.

In real news, it was a pleasure seeing Ashley, Chris, and Boots this weekend. I look forward to seeing Ash in time for her birthday next weekend!

Yesterday, Cage wanted so Naruto cards, so we took him to get some and I had a chance to see Ashley. Yay!! Hope you got to see 300, hon! Next weekend I’m in Charleston for class, but if this cold isn’t completely gone, I’m not even going to ask my favorite guys for a place to bunk. I’ve got a ton of work to do for that class and may actually start on it today if my cough medicine will stop knocking me out. Pfft.

My concern is that I haven’t seen any of my local friends in quite a while, and I’m especially concerned about my girl, Shrader. Once I get to hang out with her and my other local friend, Flo, and go to Dragon*Con with Ben and Jesse, I’ll just have had a pretty great Summer.

Heh. I guess all the happy little couples and families had their fireworks displays ruined by the storm. Say it with me, “awwww”. *snerk*

Here’s to hoping xash13x gets better and doesn’t get fired and to bigbenalpha and indiecowboy not backing out on Dragon*Con.

“Chicago” put me to sleep. Literally. The theatre it played in was so small that it *has* to be the lower limit of Broadway, but we had orchestra seats, so that was nice. It’s just b.o.r.i.n.g. “Lestat” was by far the more enjoyable production. We saw it in the Palace Theatre and although we were in the nosebleed section, we (students and cool people) loved it. After hearing several tepid reviews, our expectations were lowered, which may be a contributing factor to our appreciation of the play. The sets and costumes were stunning and really inspired our theatre department. I was thrilled to see the kids enjoying it. Damn near moved to tears, even.

I spent some time in The Village, Chinatown, Times Square, Ellis Island, and Liberty Island, and like the kids, I was amazed at just how easily we all integrated into each segment. This trip really opened the eyes of all of us and if we can do it again (without parents and self-righteous adults), I’m all for it. I have a few pics on my site for anyone interested in boring stuff.

Oh, I almost forgot! When I came home, I learned that my brother is engaged! Her name is Jamie, though I call her James just because it sounds cooler, she teaches school with him, and she has a little boy named Cage. I’m going to be an aunt! In August! Yippee!!

Tomorrow, xash13x and I are going to NYC for the weekend. With 40 students. Our role is that of chaparones, which basically means we get a free, all expenses paid trip. The group of students we’re taking is nearly a perfect group to travel with, as they are nice blend of theatre kids, goth kids, and the odd prep or two. We’re seeing two Broadway shows, Chicago and Lestat. After reading the reviews of Lestat, I can’t WAIT to see our kids’ reactions. Oh, it’s going to be gold. I think we’re spending the rest of our time traipsing around the city, but we’ll be in the Village mostly.

Anyone up for some souvenirs? I suck at buying things and have NO IDEA what to buy.

I had my last class of the semester yesterday, and since I was in his town, I had an overwhelming urge to see bigbenalpha, so I did just that. Classwise, I have a 95 going into the final project and as long as I score 42/50 (which will NOT be hard to do), I’ll get an “A” in the class. Since I have 100+ in my other class already, I’m not worried about it, either.

Thursday I went to see Revenge of the Sith again with Ash and her brother. We both noticed that Anakin cries twice in the movie. I had noticed the first time he cries, but somehow missed the second occurance. If anything, it probably made me even more (wrongly) sympathetic toward him.

Last night I met up with two of my coworkers for dinner and drinks at Macadoo’s. After the ceremony, Ash, her man, and her brother joined us as well. ‘Twas a very fun night, indeed. I even had a surprise visitor show up to see me.
