Being Human returned last week, and it’s taken me this long to write about it. <--- Not a good sign. I will say, however, that S2 Ep2 is much better. For starters, there's less George, which also means there's less out-of-character-George. The Mitchell love is still growing, as is the Annie love (oh, poor Annie!). Nina, too, because I wouldn't have adjusted quite so well, either. All in all, things are going well...heh.

The looming threat could play out really terrifically, and I hope it does. I was never completely convinced that Herrick was a big enough bad, even with his lofty vamp goals. No, religious nuts with technology seem much more threatening, if you ask me.

Regardless, Being Human is back, and I am very, very glad that it is. Is anyone else watching first run??

There’s no doubt in my mind that if I was still using any of my old themes for this site, I would totally have a “Being Human” theme. I seriously love these guys, and I can’t wait until the new series arrives. Sure, filming it is a great first step, but I’m ready NOW.

As much as I abhor Youtube, I saw this on one of my BH communities on LJ and felt compelled to not only watch, but add it here, as well. I may have even recruited a new fan in my dad. He asked for the “Must See” list of the moment and after I told him a very basic outline of the show, he asked, “Do they act like vampires, werewolves, and ghosts?” Apparently, since they do, at least at times, he’s in. Niiiice.

I finally gave in and then rushed through finishing Being Human. There are quite a few edits that BBCAmerica threw at us that I’m not surprised to see, though calling someone a “twat” is a surprising one. Seeing a bit more nudity is always amusing.

The more I watched, I realized that Annie and Mitchell are two of my favorite characters to come along in a very long time. I certainly don’t mean that George is any less wonderful, but Annie and Mitchell are just more relatable (which considering their place in the world, is just weird). I’m so sad that I didn’t watch this sooner, and I’m also sad that I’ve finished the first series so quickly. I guess I’ll never be a fan of a six-episode run (unless it’s a merciful ending a la Demons). I’m so glad to see that there will be a second series and that I have to wait only five months to see it. I’ll just loop Series 1 until then.

I don’t know how I let this show slip past me the first time around. Being Human is now airing on BBCAmerica and I’m just getting around to watching it. I’m not sure what vibe they’re going for; there’s wit, horror, drama, and intrigue. There’s just not enough of any of them, really. It’s not so much that I didn’t like the first episode (and I really like Mitchell), I just don’t know what I’m meant to think about it.

I’m going to stick with it, though I already wish I was watching the original series. Russell Tovey (who appears to really like his bum) has already had to have some butt-blurring, and there’s no telling what else has been cut or changed. Hopefully it’s not enough to make a difference in the overall feel of the show (Sci-Fi SyFy, I’m glaring at you and the Doctor Who cuts you made :evileye: ), but since there doesn’t appear to be too much to feel, I guess it won’t matter.
