Todd and Cole’s baby shower was much fun and I’m pretty sure the baby is going to be the most stylin’ tot in the world. It was so good to see them again and I hope it won’t be such a long time before the next visit. Sunday was NOT awesome. I spent the day at a birthday party…for a ONE year old. Jeez, what exactly is the point of such a thing?!! I was roped into going with my mom to my cousin’s baby’s party. Yeah. Lame.

Moving on, I’ve started to notice some definite vidding trends in certain fandoms. Stargate SG-1 seems to be ruled by 70′s music. SGA is all about trying to “out-cool” the others. LOST is all about A/U. All of these trends have worn out their welcome as far as I’m concerned. Meh. This is not to say that some of the best vids I’ve seen haven’t sprung from these trends (ok, maybe not the SG-1 thing…), but when the whole fandom gets on that (or any) bandwagon, it just becomes a breeding ground of mediocrity. So I say, yes, bring back the simple stuff. Or not. Whatever floats your boat :)

I got to see Todd and Cole in Greensboro. It was sooo great snarking on the Vegas Buffy Homecoming trip and seeing the new baby furniture and getting T.A.G. on DVD. Narayan came up too and just made the trip perfect. After eating more bagels that any one person should Friday morning, the movers showed up and we were on the road.

With a couple of tiny exceptions, my house is set up and ready for visitors. I don’t actually close until tomorrow (Monday), but I stayed there last night and I’m bringing Hobbit today. The new furniture is EXACTLY what I hoped for, though the coffee table was damaged in shipping and the replacement won’t arrive for a couple of weeks. Once I get a new door installed and the table placed, I think I’ll be just as happy as can be.

Thursday: Arrive in Knoxville in record time. Enjoy spending time with Mike. Grab some Mexican for dinner. Enjoy spending time with Mike. Watch Teh Big Empty (repeatedly). Enjoy spending time with Mike :)
Friday: Wake up to the best pancakes in the history of EVAH. Watch The Fifth Element, X2, and FOTR. Have dinner at (aww damn, I can’t remember the name) Charlie Peppers or something to that effect. Take all-night nap.
Saturday: Reluctantly leave Knoxville. Drive 4.5 hours on the worst interstate known to man. Arrive at Todd and Cole’s frickin’ mansion. Take tour of mansion. Love mansion. Love Todd and Cole. Go eat at Ham’s. Have them make classic Caribbean Beef Wrap…yummm. Go to Target. Spend money. Go to Circuit City. Spend money. Go to mall. Spend money. Go to Best Buy. Find nothing. Watch Resident Evil. Love Milla.
Sunday: Bruegger’s Bagel breakfast=heaven. Leave early to get home and help mom find clothes to wear on business trip. Luggage from CA trip still not here…heh.
Monday: Drop Hobbit off at vet’s for surgery. Cry eyes out. Still.

Dial-up still doesn’t work. So how am I on? I decided to try my hand at my DSL. Yep. It works. *dances* Now I can finish unpacking and GET A JOB. I, um, couldn’t do those things without internet, ya see?

The move went extremely well. Well, except for getting caught stealing diesel gas for the truck. HAHAHA. I gave Dwayne my credit card at the pump, then I went into the store part to get some cash. He came up to me after he pumped the gas and said, “Oh, ” which actually meant that he thought I had gone inside to pay for the gas. We all drove off in our little caravan. A few lights up, a man motioned for me to roll down my window. Thinking he needed directions, I did so. He said, “YOU DIDN’T PAY FOR THAT DIESEL GAS!!!” I said, “Yes, we did, we put it on the credit card at the pump!” He said, “There IS NO Pay at the Pump on diesel!” I started shaking badly. We all pulled into a parking lot, and he was kind enough to take cash and write me a receipt. I’m still shaking, though.

Todd and Cole bought me a housewarming gift–a box of Kaboom, my favorite, but incredibly hard to find cereal! Yippee!!!

I still have a carload of stuff to bring up, but I think we set a record on getting stuff in the U-Haul, usually there is a lot more left behind. Yea Team!!
