One Fan Added

My dad is a Fringe fan! I’m so proud of him. He was also a LOST fan in the beginning, but he jumped ship on that one long before I did. I hope he sticks with it this time so we can “Ooh” and “Ahhh” together. He’s going to check out True Blood later today, but I don’t think he’ll like it too much; he just feels obligated to watch any new HBO series because they gave him his beloved Deadwood and Carnivale.

If you missed Fringe, or even if you didn’t, they’re re-airing it tonight along with the first bit of Episode 2. I am so excited, y’all. Seriously. I’m even going to do some of the online Fringe things…something I swore I’d never do.

[Edit: My moods here are all bunked up. Maybe I’ll fix them later today. I’ve got two of some, and none of others. Where the heck did “Excited” go?!?]

More Site Stuff

I added a few rotating headers, inspired by Trench of 7milesdown. Before anyone asks, yes, I do know that his use is far superior to my own. 😛 I also revamped the “About Jenn” page. It’s still not complete, but by using a gallery instead of my random images, it looks a helluva lot better at first glance. It’s funny how when you actually sit down to list all the things you love, you struggle to think of the things that YOU LOVE. Heh.

I skipped SGA, so I guess the love has really left me. I’m sad about that. At least we got “Turn Left” (Doctor Who) tonight. Now I’ve seen that episode at least 10 times, but having it on air is just cool.

The aforementioned dinner fell through, but Dad assures me that we’re going tomorrow. I can already taste the greatness. I  beef. 😆

[Edit: Because I hate this theme, I’ll be getting a new one tomorrow, or at least going with my own that works. Iframes? Seriously?!? Ugh!!!]

[Edit Edit: I like this theme. Since I didn’t create it, there may be bugs I don’t know about. See any? I know that in my IE7, the right sidebar gets smooshy in places, and I cannot for the life of me figure out why or correct it. Oh well. Use FF or Opera anyway 😛 ]

Happy Birthday Dad

Today is my dad’s birthday and even though I have a pretty bad Spring cold, I’ll be going to his house to celebrate. Happy Day, Dad! I spent a little time up there yesterday, as I had to have someone escort me to the Praxis II exam I had to take in order to be certified for my job. I have NO IDEA how I did on that test. I am an excellent test taker (as I’ve stated in the past), but this wasn’t a test of counseling. This was a test of common sense, which could be bad for ol’ Jenny-Girl. Heh.

Allow me, for a moment, to speak televisionally. LOST, as we knew and loved, is completely done. I have achieved closure now, and can nearly watch the show again. I’ve accepted that the show is about some old white men and their ridiculous dealings. What it is NOT is a show about the survivors of a plane crash. This became evident during the last episode, where it was “Elsewhere on the island, some people were seen on a beach.” The stories of Jack, Kate, Sawyer, Locke, Michael, Walt, Sun, Jin, Hurley, Charlie, Claire, Shannon, Boone, etc. are meaningless. They are nothing but side plots now. When all is said and done, they will be afterthoughts in the synopsis of the show. The end of the synopsis will read, “…and survivors of a plane crash caused by the island were featured in flashbacks and later, flashforwards due to their contact with Ben and Mr. Widmore.) *sigh* I miss the first year so much. Now that the smokemonster (which is a stupid device, anyway) can be controlled, there’s no inherent fear of the unknown. It really is a show about rich old men playing around with an island. Sad, really.

The two-part Doctor Who episode is here, and Part One was the best of the early season two-parters yet. I enjoyed seeing Martha and Donna together and I’m really looking forward next week. I’ve also started watching The Sarah Jane Adventures on SciFi. I’m content with just watching the episodes there, so I won’t be burning them to disc, but I’m really enjoying the show, kids and all. Lots of fun!
