No, brotha.

How sad is it that I like Desmond better than all but one original cast member?

We got out of work early yesterday and had a full snowday today. :flake: Yay! I have some work I could be doing, but it looks like my birthday plans (the ones from when I was young and thought I’d be celebrating with diamond “Forever” necklaces from my astonishingly gorgeous husband) aren’t going to pan out and I can spend all weekend doing credit checks for the juniors and sophomores.

Tonight is one of the best nights for television: Survivor, CSI, Ugly Betty, Whoo! Oh, I have to say that I  the SG-1 ep from this week. It felt just like an old season 3 or 4 ep, only, you know, without Jack. Still, I really liked it.

Breaktime!

It’s snowing. A lot. I figure it’s easier to make several trips out to shovel than to wait until there are more than 3″ and try to shovel that heavy amount. After a two hour delay turned into a full day off yesterday, I was excited when the phone rang this morning. We were already on a two hour delay, so the call could mean only one thing–right? WRONG. Apparently, there’s something called “Code A” which means that kids don’t have to attend, but staff does! 😮 I worked 10-3 and I have to say, I’m glad. Having been out since Thursday, it was good to get back and get caught up on my work. It seems I missed a bomb threat on Friday. They evacuated the school and everyone went home early, so I guess I didn’t miss too much when I was in Charleston. What I know I didn’t miss was my fabulous birthday presents from Ben and Jesse. Those guys sure know how to take care of a girl! Cool animals, masks, and LOTR guys…shweeeet!

That’s it! Back to work, peon!

Worldly Girl

bscap0116.jpg First of all, Heroes owns. It just does. To have Eccleston (who will probably never be referred to by his character’s name) say, “Fantastic!” was brilliance. Just as I was starting to yell, “Stop showing Claire; no one cares!” they went and got me interested in her again. Damn. In a good way.

In the next three weeks, I will be venturing to the big city of Charleston for class two times and the State ACT conference once. I should get an EZ-Pass and a sublet. Heh. Hopefully, I’ll get to see my Chas buddies a little while I’m in town. The class weekends will be rough, though, because I’ll be getting up at 4:30am, working until I make the 3 hour drive to Charleston, sitting in class until 10:30pm and then going back Saturday for more class from 8am-6pm. Ugh. Hopefully, one more semester and I’ll be finished.

I think I’ll get to bed early tonight. I forgot to turn my alarm clock on after yesterday’s snowday and had I not had a hungry Hobbit waking me up, I may have slept the whole day away. Thanks, Hob!!

S(no)w

I’m getting reeeealy tired of bogus weather forecasts. For the last week, we were promised lots of snow. What did we actually receive? Near nothing. Oh sure, we got a little excited and got to go home 2 hours early on Thursday, but in actuality, we could have stayed with no problem. We got a 2 hour delay on Friday, but that was more of a “wind-chill delay” because there sure as heck wasn’t any snow causing any problems.

Unless we get a ton of :flake: tonight, I bet we don’t get any kind of work reprieve tomorrow. I don’t think I’d mind so much if the forecast didn’t keep calling for snow. Grrrr.
