twilogo.jpg I saw Twilight. Honestly, I did. I even have the ticket stub to prove it. Why, then, am I reading about people’s favorite parts being scenes that I never even saw in the movie? I think I must have blanked during many parts of the movie. Apparently there was something about the 50s that I totally missed. I also missed where Edward bit Bella, unless they’re referring to the after-James fallout. Hmmph.

My next “huh?” is about Pushing Daisies. So, Chuck’s name is Charlotte Charles. Her father’s name is Charles Charles. Her aunt’s names are Lily and Vivian Charles. Vivian was engaged to Charles Charles and Lily, well, you know. So, um, why are they all named “Charles”? Is it just one of those small town quirks where the last name is common even though the people aren’t actually related? I just got to thinking that it was odd. Also? What’s Ned’s last name? Hmmm.

Quick Pushing Daisies note: I’m having trouble hearing the dialogue this season. I can hear it a bit better if I’m watching on my computer, but whenever I watch first run, it’s like the sound mixers have just gone crazy. I have to replay scenes frequently and I still struggle to hear what they’re saying. It’s almost like they have actual whispering instead of theatrical whispering and the music and sound effects drown it all out.

Anyone else having this problem?

The news this week for my favorite shows was dismal.

Yes, Fringe got a full season pickup and the ratings weren’t horrible, but I just don’t understand why more people aren’t gaga over this show. I want to yell at them, “But you are the ones still fanboying Lost, for Pete’s sake!” The argument that “It’s not believable” doesn’t hold up to the ridiculousness that we see on that show. Geez.

Pushing Daisies got slammed by reviewers, and again, I don’t get it. I loved the episode. I did feel that it needed even more Emerson, but I also thought it felt just as whimsical as Season 1 and therefore, was awesome.

Ugly Betty received virtually no press, so there’s another of my shows seemingly past its prime. Woe.

Somewhat related, Sanctuary was neither wow nor terrible; just meh.
