Times Change

stargate02.jpg There was a time when Friday meant Yippee!SGA. Now, I barely remember, “Oh, it’s Friday, SGA is on tonight.” Last night’s episode, “Girl Power” “Missing” is a good reason why. How long were the men in the ep? Four minutes? Maybe? I don’t like Dr. Keller. I don’t hate her, but she has no redeemable qualities. She’s just “there”. Carson, I cared about. This one, nope. Teyla’s pregnant. Ooh, wow. NOT. Unless it’s Ronon’s (it’s not), I’m not interested. Another thing–if you’re going to show any plot about the Athosians, let me see the only one we know, at least in a flashback. Otherwise, it’s a show about missing strangers, and really, who cares about strangers?

Ugly Betty was pretty good. Betty’s fired, but for how long? First half of next episode, I’d bet. Not that I care. Maybe I’m just a bit fussy because there was no Pushing Daisies this week. The Redneck Music Awards were on, and preempting PD with that dreck just made the week that much bleaker.

Next week is going to be cool. I have Monday off, and on Friday I’m going to to see and . I’ll get to meet Jonas for the first time, and we (the humans) are planning to see Beowulf! Hurrah!

Taking Action

Sorry I’ve been absent, non-responsive, etc. I’m trying to remedy that–with St. John’s Wort. Now I know that Ella from Hex nearly died from it, as it weakened her powers, but since I’m not an immortal fighting the Nephilim, I figure it can only help. We’ll see…

Not that I want to turn this into a Pushing Daisies site, but OMyG, how great is this show? I absolutely adore Emerson. Chi McBride has a new fan here, I tell ya.

Emerson, after being questioned by Ned about the appropriateness of taking on friend Olive as a client:

Oh, hang on a second, let me ask the money: *mock phones* Oh, hey, Money, it’s me, Emerson. I’m good, I’m good, thanks for asking. Say, can I still pay my bills and buy stuff with you even though you was Olive’s money first? Uh huh….yeah…*laughs* Thanks. *puts away fake phone* *Serious Voice* The money don’t care, touch him.

Bwahahahaha. Gold, I say!

That Voice!

This is my life and there’s (still) no Mekhi Phifer. We had three days of bomb threats at work, and other than that, not much is happening there.

Anyway, dude, I figured out why I love Pushing Daisies so much! In my car, the only thing I’ve been listening to for months now is the Harry Potter series on my Zune. Who’s the narrator? None other than Jim Dale, who is also the narrator for Pushing Daisies. No wonder I love the show. His voice is the first one I hear every day! Although this show is absolutely fantastic, I think it’s contributing to my loneliness. I’m Olive. Totally.

Heroes will find it’s second season footing, but I’m not hating it as is, so I say, “Keep on!” Survivor gave me a moment of dread when it looked like James was doomed, only for him to come back with the Immunity Idol AND a win. Yay! Ugly Betty. Oh, Ugly Betty, you have completely redeemed yourself from the sadness of Santos with Cliff. LOVE Cliff! I want to be Mark. Seriously. SGA is still good, though I miss Elizabeth terribly.

Hobbit and Istar are doing great, and want to wish everyone a Happy Halloween! :jack: :frankie: :skull: :vamp:

Thinking of Ween

Unless you know Ween, or paid too much attention to Beavis and Butthead, you’ll get NOTHING from the reference. Anyway, I finally got around to watching Pushing Daisies. I’d had it for ages, but never got into the mood to watch it. Yep, it’s as good as they say. Normally, when the cool-kid gang likes something, I hate it on premise (see: Firefly). Anyway, it’s the narration that makes the show. The acting and visuals are wonderful too, but I just love a good “fairy tale”. The fact that my copy has French subtitles gives it an Amelie feel, thus enhancing the charm. I know future eps won’t have the subtitles, but I really enjoyed having them for the first episode.

Watch Pushing Daisies, everyone!
