BAMFs

If history has taught us anything, it’s that Sean Bean is badass. The best headline I’ve ever seen just hit: Sean Bean Actually Stabbed, Remains Awesome. Ha! Who else would take a shard of glass to the arm in a bar fight, refuse medical treatment, and then calmly order another drink at the bar? it.

In related musings, I have to admit that I was never a huge fan of Robb Stark until, well, let’s just say Book Three. The latest Game of Thrones episode, “Baelor”, really did a great job of showing the essence of the character, though. In one swift scene, I was able to “get” what I had missed when I read the books. Although I remain a Jon fan, I can certainly appreciate Robb more than ever before, and it’s things like this that make the production of the show truly fantastic. I’m looking forward to the final episode of the first season, but I’ll be anxiously awaiting the return of some of my favorite characters.

Bean Day

Here’s to another Happy Birthday for my favorite actor, and to another year of exciting performances.

It’s hard to believe so many years have passed since I first became a fan; an unlikely fan, at that! I think the general love in the LOTR fandom helped foster my craziness.

I can easily say that Sean Bean’s performance was the sole redeeming factor of Percy Jackson. I’m hoping that HBO’s Game of Thrones is as good all the critics are predicting. I could use another round of fangirl frenzy for Sean.

Go, Joe!

I want to see G.I. Joe. In no way did I ever think I would say, “I want to see G.I. Joe.” When I was little, my uncle had a few of the action figures, but I always thought they were enormous and too cumbersome to be played with properly; I much preferred my Star Wars figures.

When I heard there was going to be a G.I. Joe movie, I shrugged it off. “Oh, another war move, who cares?” I figured that at best, it would be some Jarhead type thing. A few castings later, I was interested, and a few trailers later, I was looking forward to it.

Anyone who knows me will be able to look at the movie poster and identify the two main reasons I want to see this movie. Oh, and if they had somehow worked Sean Bean into the movie, it may have just been my favorite movie of all time (even if it sucks). Ha! Regardless, I seriously may drag myself to see this sometime this weekend.
