I’m not going to Dragon*Con this year. I’m really bummed about it, but looking at the list of celebs (the main reason I go), there are only a handful I would have wanted to see. As of today, here’s my list of who I wish I could have seen:

LOTR: Sean Astin

Stargate: Alexis Cruz (who never made it last year), Christopher Judge, Michael Shanks, Paul McGillion, Louis Gossett, Jr., and Corin Nemec.

Others: Virginia Hey (though the workshop is too expensive this year) and the few HP stars, who will undoubtedly cancel last minute like last year.

I guess overall, I’m not missing too much and unless the guest list explodes within the next month, I’m not going to feel too badly.

stash.jpgYou would think that getting a shipment from White Flower Lei would be enough of a great thing, but you’d be wrong. Having purchased the “Bliss” Soy Candle at Dragon*Con, I was confident I would also love the “Bliss” soap, also handmade by Virginia Hey. After experiencing the amazing meditation workshop by Virginia, I also purchased the “Chill” meditation CD. They arrived today with a lovely handwritten note from Virginia that I may just frame. Hee!

The next great thing happened when I realized that I had received not one, but TWO packages. [info]bigbenalpha and [info]indiecowboy sure do know how to turn it out. OMG. No one is a bigger fan of Frankenstein that I am, and my guys are just remarkably great at picking out the perfect gifts. Starting in the upper left hand corner, I’ll describe: “Bliss” soap, “Chill” CD, Frankie cookie jar, Frankie “Trick or Treat” socks, handmade, extraordinarily clever card *loves*, and Frankie dish. (Not pictured because it’s already hanging up, is the cutest Frankie glass windchime in the world)! In no way do I deserve such wonderful things, but I just wanted to say to Ben and Jesse that “YOU ROCK!!”

dahob.jpgIt’s great to be home with Da Hob!! I’m still collecting random thoughts about Dragon*Con. I’ll edit this post whenever they come to me. They’ll be in green, just so you know :wink2:.

SG-1 is going to be a Lucian Alliance ep next week….snore. Damn, I hate that whole storyline. A lot. This week’s ep was actually entertaining on many levels. I know the Daniel/Vala shippers are over the moon and Vala fans have to be happy for her getting her patches (JUST LIKE MINE!). SGA was good, but boring as can be. Next week looks to be a little better. Entertainment Weekly just put out the Fall TV guide, and all I can say is, “Thank goodness for cable!” In looking at the new shows, the only ones halfway appealing to me are on NBC, which due to FCC(link) rules, I can’t get, so, YAY! I’ll get to go to bed as soon as I come home from work most nights! Hee!

Stars seen in non-panel situations: Virginia Hey (many times), Mickey Rooney (elevator ride), Kavan Smith (escalator ride), Anson Williams, Donnie Most, Kiran Shah (bar), Dean Haglund–Langly from Lone Gunmen fame (lobby), Rip Taylor (dinner).

Total amount of shwag: SG-1 Tee, Pirate print mug, “Bliss” White Flower Lei (By Virginia Hey) candle, Grima Wormtongue LOTR figure. Autograph pics of : Cliff Simon, Don S. Davis, Peter Mayhew, David Prowse, Virginia Hey, George Takei.**D’oh! Official Dragon*Con logo Tee.

Also: Items left in hotel room: Shampoo (from home) and my In Dreams shower cream. Dang it!
