OK, I’m ready now

In my last post I said that TCOR owned my ass. Let me repeat: TCOR OWNS my ass! I did fail, however, to mention all of the other good of the weekend. Thanks to the ever-amazing Ben, I now own my very own Sean Bean. So what if it’s an action figure Boromir? It’s mine, MINE! Since I already have a Johnny Depp *wink* this is one helluva collection I’ve got. We also had dinner at a yummy Mexican place where the cute waitstaff made googly eyes at Ben. I got Hobbit some toys and a privacy tent for her automatic litter box cleaner. She really likes that tent….to STAND ON! sheesh! Ben and I went to a flea market and saw some cool LOTR replica weaponry. This prompted him to show me some catalogues he had and I ended up ordering THIS. Whoo! I’m sure there will be more later, but for now, I’m exhausted…heh

Yes, it OWNS my ass

Saw The Chronicles of Riddick with Ben last night. Was it only last night? It feels like it was forever ago. It was so over the top that I don’t think I can even begin to do it justice in a blog entry. Every look, every cliche, every hit, everything* was perfect. Total action and Karl Urban to look at…what more could a girl want? I will have to come down from this high before I can really say more. I’ve now seen Van Helsing, Troy, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, and TCOR. Riddick is the movie that the others only hoped to be. *Thandie Newton did indeed suck and has been excised from memory.

Night and Day

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban was nothing like what I expected. After hearing how great the director is and whatnot, I expected more than I got. The actors were all terrific, but very key elements were sacrificed in order to allow more time for “sweeping shots of cinematic excellence” and supposed “mood enhancing” still shots. The twins are growing nicely, as are Harry and Ron. Remus and Sirius had a few touching scenes, and I know fanfic writers rejoiced at some of the intimacy they shared.

Overall, I’d say that it’s a good movie of a wonderful book.
