Pointless

I have no real reason to post right now, I’m just testing out my shiny new Heroes moodtheme I made. It’s skimpy on variety, and not the best pics, but I’ll work on it over the next few weeks.

Answers?

The headline on MSNBC.com right now is “Search for Victims, Answers”. Answers? What are the questions? The bridge collapsed. There’s your answer. The media is always looking to make more out of something than needs to be, and I’m sick of it.

It reminds me of an interview The Today Show did with someone shortly after Hurricane Rita. They asked the man, “Can you tell us what happened?” My brother and I were listening to the broadcast on the radio on the way to work and we both burst out laughing. We simultaneously said, and you could almost hear the man thinking, “Goddamn hurricane hit, that’s what happened, you dumbass!” Yet the interviewer just had to reach for some drama. Yeah, right.

Here’s a novel approach to responsible journalism: Report the facts and stop trying to make everyone in this country a victim. Thanks.

The Return!

Years ago, when I first moved back here, on a rare trip out to dinner with friends, I had a waiter that made my heart beat a little faster. He was far too young for me, and not at all “my type” but there was something about him… I enjoyed seeing him each successive time I visited the restaurant until one day, he was no more.

Months later, while at dinner with my mom at a new restaurant, my lovely waiter reappeared and I was overjoyed. Every Wednesday my mom and I would go to that restaurant and I was able to at least catch a glimpse of him, until one day, he was no more.

It’s been a while now since I saw him, but last night, my luck changed! While eating at yet a different restaurant, in a glorious return, was my waiter, Donnie. Like a twelve year old, I actually blushed profusely after ordering my drink. Seriously. Mom could only laugh at me, which she did; a lot. Looks like I’ll be eating a lot more at Applebee’s, which is kind of unfortunate, as I don’t really like the food all that much. Heh.

I guess it’s nice to have random people the world to fawn over and stalk appreciate. Who knows? Maybe one day I’ll be someone’s Donnie.

In real news, it was a pleasure seeing Ashley, Chris, and Boots this weekend. I look forward to seeing Ash in time for her birthday next weekend!
