I’m not surprised that the show was cancelled for a few different reasons. I’ve stated most of my gripes before, and I know a large part of the fandom shares them. When the heart of the show was removed, Weir and Beckett, the writers put themselves into deep holes and never really dug their way out. I guess in the end, the only things I’ll miss about Atlantis are the sets, Ronon (the eye-candy, not the role), Rodney, and the chance to get to know those kickass villains we only got a glimpse of. Oddly enough, I won’t miss Sheppard, who was the reason I watched in the first place. There has been almost NO character development in five years now, and without Elizabeth to humaniize him, he became some basic military guy.
Hopefully, we’ll have Eureka and Fringe around long enough to make me happy. Colin Ferguson says in his interview vid on Sci-Fi that they’re actually going to get an additional Winter run to go along with the Summer run, so maybe that’s good news. I still cannot say enough about how much I love Fringe. I just keep waiting for it to actually premiere so I can see new episodes.
Ok….this makes me mad.. First SG-1 and now Atlantis… :evileye: 😥 :nonono:
You know Eureka is only airing 8 episodes this year. The other 13 don’t air til 2009. 😡 I’m really waiting on Fringe to start airing. I’m tired of watching the pilot over and over.
They way he explained it, they would air the first 8 now, and the rest in Winter, which means February at the latest…right? I can live with that.
So you like Fringe, too?!? Whoo hoo! I hope everyone gets on board!
Maybe the movies can bring back Weir and Beckett – who seems to be in the preview for the next ep. :clap: Or was I being deaf and it’s a re-run? 😳
