The next new show that I’m watching is No Ordinary Family. I would have been moderately interested in the show on the premise alone, but when I found out that Dexter’s Julie Benz was onboard, I was super excited. NOF is surprisingly fresh in many ways. Sure you have a family with superpowers struggling to figure out how they work and how best to use them, but there’s also a killer twist at the end of the first episode that hints at MUCH more than a quirky family show. Also? Julie Benz’ hair always looks amazing, especially when she’s traveling at super-speed.
Again, this is a show that is available on Hulu, so watch it as soon as you get the chance, I think you’ll like it.
SPOILER QUESTION FOR EPISODE ONE (Stop reading if you haven’t watched yet!!)
Wouldn’t someone with teleportation abilities be able to just, you know, teleport into a bank vault without having to be a masked robber?? I always have this question of teleporters, possibly because it’s the power I most desire.
Teleportation is also my most desired power. :nod: Depending on who’s writing the character, and what powers the teleportation, you could easily pop up anywhere you wanted. X-Men’s Nightcrawler, for example, needs to be able to see where he’s going or at least be very familiar with it, and only for short distances. Other characters whose names you wouldn’t recognize can go for longer distances but only if they’d already been there, some can slip in and out of pocket dimensions that act like space/time short cuts, and some just go where ever and it’s never explained how. I would prefer the go where ever variety.
Not that I don’t find it a convenient writing tool to say that you need to be able to see where you’re going when teleporting, but I at least appreciated Nightcrawler putting it out there for us. There’s no explanation given (yet) on NOF, so it’s easy to sit back and gripe as I did. :frankie:

Nah, I actually chopped a few shows from my Hulu subscription ’cause I just wasn’t feeling them anymore. And I’m really not feeling giving something new a try. I’ve been a tad fussy of late.
