I have a new favorite internet person–at least for today. Loki gets my Fandom Wank Appreciation Award for this gem:

Ideally, I’d like to have an answer or resolution within 10 business days.

I seriously sporfled at that. And NOT only because I recently leared that a pony is not just a young horse.

I’m in the freakin’ Twilight Zone. I have bitched and complained to DreamHost about my site being down so many times, and though it is up right now, EVERY OTHER SITE I VISIT is down. I can’t get ZeroMuch, LJ, WP, 1&1 (who hosts ZeroMuch) or even MSNBC.com to load. Weird.

Misguided?

I admit, I’ve stalked checked out pretty much the same blogs forever it seems–mostly those of the old BC&S people. Now that I’ve been using the WP forum quite a bit, I’ve diversified my viewing.

That said, OMG WE’RE DOING IT WRONG! Apparently, to have a proper blog, you have to have a deep-seeded hatred of the product you’re using. You also have to have a LOT of whitespace. Color and/or graphics are frowned upon. The only color you should have is some narrow strip of “wildlife shot” as your header. Your blog looks better with a tree branch on top,yo. You didn’t know? You also have to have Google Ads. LOTS AND LOTS of Google Ads. Oh, and while it’s not mandatory, if you hate America, you get bonus points. If you are able to gather your followers properly, you can act like a six year old online and they will RUSH to defend you. I kid you not, this week has seen the “Wah! That’s it! I’m leaving!” posts of several of the support forum mods over at WP. The support for them has been astonishing.

In conclusion, all the layouts we’ve used, from Karen’s Capt. Jack Sparrow and Mutant X, to One by One’s Gwen(s), and V.D’O, to Pooh’s Joe, Cibby’s Kane, and Chasa’s Darla, have been BAD. We are teh suck.

Karen has announced that D-t-R.org is shutting down. Back when I was on Homestead, I marveled over how she was able to leap into having a *real* site so effortlessly. When she started using Movable Type, I was flabbergasted. When she started writing fanfic, I was spellbound. When she shared her fanart, I all but idolized her. When she tried to teach me the basics of having a site, such as ftp and hosting, I was in awe.
