Cineplex Fun

After making my offer for Golf Course House, I caught a movie Friday night.

If you’ve read my thoughts on The Brothers Grimm, it may do you well to know that I would watch it again before sitting through The Exorcism of Emily Rose again. The Exorcism of Emily Rose plays like a Lifetime Movie Network production–a bad one at that. Ugh.

One Giant Step

After work tomorrow, I’m making an offer on Golf Course House. It doesn’t mean I’ll get it, as a lot of things have to fall into place before that happens. They have to accept the offer, I have to formally apply for the loan, the house has to appraise at or above my offer, I have to be approved, etc. I’m excited about it and don’t see any reason why I shouldn’t get it.

There is just one thing, though….Has anyone seen the key to my storage unit where all my belongings are? It’s been so long that I think I may have thrown the key away. 😮

Home is where?

After all but writing off Boat House, I have found a couple more that hold my interest. One of them, Golf Course House, is a large split-level house that needs nothing but a bit of cosmetic work. It’s close to the Elks golf course, hence the name. It lists for $90K, but I would offer around $75K if I were going for it. The other house, Doctor House, is truly a find. This house is owned by a doctor who has relocated his practice to FL. The house is 2500 sq. feet, which is HUGE for just Hobbit and me. It has four bedrooms, two and a half baths, quite a bit of land, a few extra rooms, and several quirky things I like, such as a candy apple red tub and basin in one of the baths. The house needs some cosmetic work, but for the mind boggling low price (they’re asking $119K) I’m willing to pay, I could really come out waaaay ahead on this one.

We looked at houses for about 6 hours today, and I am just completely exhausted. I have a tons of vids to judge tomorrow, so I’ll be around if you need me. :wink2:

I was right about one thing

…the negotiations were short.

It doesn’t look like the house I had termed “Boat House” is going to be mine. After taking my uncle with me to do a little more looking around, we have decided that the owner is asking too much. He’s only willing to go down to $89K, which is totally doable, but not for that house. It still needs a couple of structural things and I’m not the chick to get into that kind of work.

Oh well….more houses await. I’ve not done hardly any LJ commenting, and I’m very sorry for that. Maybe I’ll get back on track soon. *pouts*
