Season’s End (Love)

fringeIn the battle for television supremacy, I’m going to give the very slightest of edge to Fringe. The season ended on an intriguing note, and the show is holding up well in the DVD loop. I’m looking forward to next season more so than any other show, so that’s why I’m giving it the edge.

seekerComing in a very close second is Legend of the Seeker. Although I frequently hold episodes (sometimes for weeks) before watching, I am always pleased with this show. I squee every time there’s a R/K moment and laugh at Zedd’s zany idiosyncrasies. I get wrapped up in each episode’s adventure as if it’s a feature film, and the cinematography is stunning enough to make it feel like a feature at times.

I had a hard time leaving out Dexter, but I feel there is a lot more Dexter-love to come when the new season starts up. Harper’s Island has proven to be more fun than cerebral, but that’s acceptable. After all, it is the only show my brother and I love together.

With RL work kicking into noose-gear, I don’t know when I’ll have the hate post up, but I think you know which show will top that very long list….heh.

Good Day To Be A Geek

lotr On television (or similar) right now are: The Lord of the Rings (Trilogy), The Star Wars Saga (OT), Doctor Who/Torchwood, Robin Hood, Primeval, new ep of Pushing Daisies, and for me, the second viewing of S2 Dexter (because I still can’t stop). I’ve got RotK on the plasma and Dexter on the lappy. Next up: Hood and Primeval.

That is one heck of a selection, people!

Odds and Ends

dexter_logo Dexter is both odd, and ending. Well, ending in the sense that I am finishing S3 today. I just read that it has been renewed for two more seasons, but I have to admit that waiting a week between episodes is going to kill me. Heh. See whut I did thar? Fantastic show, and I highly recommend it.

I want to take this moment to voice my disappointment with the photoshoots in this cycle of ANTM. They suck. There’s been a total of ONE shoot where the girls were shot alone, and their faces were smeared with colored powder for that one. Looking back to, say, cycle 2, when the shoots were inventive and still beautiful, makes me think that if ANTM doesn’t try to look back instead of trying to create some messed up future, it’s going to lose what little credibility it still has.

I’m currently awaiting the car repairman to pick up my car. I got up early for this, dude! Chop chop! Whoa, not a good thing to say to an off the books repairman…

Doctor What

whologo.jpg Well, now. That was by no means “special”. I rated “Planet of the Dead” at 3/10, but that result is heightened only because of Michelle Ryan’s hair. I seriously covet her hair. As a required wearer of bangs, I have to say, her hair was bangin’. 😆 Seriously, her hair was amazing. And this one time, she pulled it up into a ponytail, and it was amazing then, too.

The rest of the “special” was donkeys.

Primeval, however: Whoa.
