One door closes…

It’s the time of year to be reflective and whatnot, right? Well, I was thinking about my so-called love life. Let’s look at this decade:

2000 For two weeks in July, my deal with Narayan was “official” but since we remained best friends, and even lived together until he moved to Seattle in December, I’m counting it.

2001 After a few random dates, I began dating Martin (in March/April). Now this one lasted until (very) early 2002, but that may appear to be more substantial than it actually was.

2002 After the whole Martin deal, not much happened until the end of June, thus beginning the Jason phase. This lasted only until (early) September, but it was still great because I realized that I wasn’t dead inside afterall.

2003 NOTHING. Aside from Fantasy World, I haven’t had so much as a date. Granted, I moved twice this year to different cities and states, but SHEESH!

Unless something drastic happens, this year is definitely going to end on a sour note. It looks like I’ll be puckering up…and not in a good way. *sigh*

2 hour delay!

School is on a two hour delay today! WHOO! Unfortunately, it’s because of massive power outages due to 50-60mph wind gusts. We lost our power at around 3am (don’t ask me why I was awake) and it didn’t come back on until around 8am. No big deal, except for the fact that the temperature this morning was in the low 30s and we had no heat. Brrrrr.

Hip Hip Hooray…

…no school today! That’s the song I used to look forward to hearing on the radio when I was young. It was played on snowdays, and that meant I got to stay home and play in the snow. Whoo! Those are great memories.

Even though I’m sick, I came to work. I’m based at Fall River Elem. on Mondays and Wednesdays, but today, when I pulled up, there was a group of students there to greet me in the parking lot. “No school!” they shouted. There is no water in the school for some reason, so they are sending all the kids home. Since there are no kids to see, I came to my “home” school, with internet access and no responsibilities all day. WHOO!

Again?!?

Well, I’m sick…again. This is the third time I’ve been sick in the last two months. The other two weren’t that bad, but this one appears to be a full-on head cold. Stuffed up nose, ouchy throat, the works. My dad bought some of these swabby things that you use inside your nose. Wish me luck that they work.

I left my apartment one day early. Why? One word: mouse. Yep, there was a tiny mouse sharing my apt. apparently. He must have known my schedule and thought that on Mondays the place was all his again. He didn’t know that I had a holiday weekend. *sigh*

I bought my mom one of those singing snowman duos from Hallmark. When I gave it to her, she said, “Yes, isn’t it cute?” Then she looked puzzled for a minute and asked me if I had bought it. Seems my brother had ALREADY given her one. Well, now she can take one to work, I guess. heh
