What’s that sound?

Oh, that’s the sound of CRUNCH TIME! I have an assignment due by noon, and as always, I haven’t started it. Actually, I have started it, I just haven’t started writing it. Lucky for me, we have another snowday!

We had a snowday Monday and I had to attend the state ACT conference yesterday in Charleston (a big thank you to the ever wonderful for his hospitality and assistance and to for just being himself). To be granted this day off is really a blessing for me–I can actually do my work.

Once I get my paper done, I plan to have fun today *glances longingly at ‘s newest vid*. I can’t wait to see it, but I’m holding it as my reward for finishing my paper, so I’m waiting. Maybe. Hehehehe. Happy Hump Day, everyone!

Note to self

Find, er, yourself. I’ve been out of the loop in major ways lately. Between work and school, I haven’t done much online. I have no new layouts, no new vids, I rarely comment on journals, heck, I rarely see journals. I sincerely hope that my decade of blogging hasn’t been a phase that I’m slipping out of. Yeah, that ended with a preposition, so what? Anyway, to update:

Lost was fantastic last night. Like Todd said, Eko selecting trees made me giddy. Charlie’s story not boring me to tears pleased me greatly. Locke creeping me out pleased me just as much as anything, and Hurley setting up his story has me looking forward to more from him. Two thumbs up…just like Hurley would do 😉

Fanvid-Recs continues to receive new submissions and we’re up to something like 60 vids now. Nearly all of them are just flawless vids and I’ve been able to see vids from fandoms I haven’t really been in to very much. It’s just how I wanted it to be. Yay!

I rocked my first assignments in each of my classes. I don’t think I should have too much of a problem pulling a couple of “A”s out of them.

Hobbit is doing fine. She’s lost a lot of weight and looks much sleeker, but she’s retained her cuteness. She still wants to overeat, but that’s our fault for feeding her four times her recommended amount daily for the first year and a half of her life.

I’m doing fine, I suppose. I visited Ben and Jesse for a bit which is always a great way to feel alive again. I’m almost considering contemplating getting out of the house more, but I’m not ready to commit to that idea just yet. Heh. Hopefully, I’ll do a little something and have more to write about at some point. Until then…

Suffering

I’ll write more when I get caught up on my sleep and my head isn’t pounding, but I just wanted to thank Ben and Jesse for a wonderful weekend. Fandom Room is planned and ready for shelving, I have a great Hagrid to watch over me, four great books that make me tingle just thinking about them, and a yummy donkey cake. OK, I don’t have any cake left, but man, was it yummy.

Thanks guys. I’ll try to be more poetic later.

p.s. I can’t wait to see da haircut!

Not So Grimm

I just had a wonderful day with and ! We had lunch at Macadoo’s, which is one of my favorite local places. We shopped for quite a while, and I was able to pick up the 16-Month calendar of LOTR, the small version of the same calendar, a Shelob, Frodo, and Sam set (even though I already have a Shelob, Frodo, and a Sam..heh), a bunch of stuff for Hobbit, magazines, etc. The we hit Big Lots only to find incredibly great Halloween Village buildings. After buying several of them each (mine alone were $120.00 and I’ll post pics of my village closer to Halloween), we saw a movie.

Oh dear gawd. The Brothers Grimm was by far the worst movie I’ve ever sat through in a theater. OK, maybe it’s tied with Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. POA had a reasons to earn my hatred, though, and I’ve stated them all before. TBG was just bad. Really bad. From the script, to the score, to the acting…it was just bad. Matt Damon and Heath Ledger do well enough with their roles, but their roles are stupid. There is no cohesiveness to the storyline and whoever edited this movie should never work in film again. Ben, Jesse, and I have determined that it would have made a LOT more sense if the film hadn’t been chopped up so badly. This is a Gilliam film (he of the “Chris Columbus ruined the first two HP movies” rant. HA! The irony!) and he tries way to hard to recreate TAoBM, but just can’t do it. He doesn’t even come close.

This movie isn’t even a “but” movie. Van Helsing was bad, but fun. Troy was bad, but pretty. Even Sean Bean couldn’t have saved this movie. It’s.that.bad. Do yourself a favor and just skip it altogether.
