I want a do over, of everything.
I can only hope that the parallel universe theory is true and there’s another me out there for whom everything goes right all the time. Bah. From the big things such as having a husband to the little things like random album art not showing up on my Zune, just bah.
As an early birthday present, Dad and Mom got my car fixed up a bit. I got a front-end alignment, new brakes and four new tires. Whee! The old rattle seems to be gone and now I’m not dreading all the trips I have to make this month.
I still look forward to Torchwood each week, but in our house it’s known as The Jack and Ianto Look At Each Other show. That’s just about the only reason we tune in, but it’s a good enough reason, I suppose. Survivor is back, and I don’t know how I missed it, but I’ve made up the first episode and it’ll do. Oh, congratulations, LOST. I actually *did* turn it off this week. My lord, could that one guy overact more?!? He might as well have a sign on that says, “Hey viewers, I’m odd and quirky, WATCH MEEEEE!” I think I’m just over how seriously the show takes itself. It’s a stupid show, based on stupid premises that the writers can’t get out of now, and yet they make it play out as if it’s Shakespeare. FFS. When it was a group of people on an island with “something’ out there, it rocked. Once the “something” became warring factions of others, scientists, and their ilk, it failed. Flash forwards suck, the flashbacks suck, everyone we’ve met since Season 1 sucks. Oh, and just kill Ben and be done with it. Geez.
To all current television shows: That is how you come back from hiatus. SGA has really shown that it stands alone as a show, but when it has the rare crossover ep, it’s done perfectly. Give us the gang we know and love, and throw in our all-time favorite (Jack), add the always welcomed Walter, don’t scrimp on the effects, and let everyone throw down. I couldn’t have made a better wishlist if I tried. Thanks, team, and thanks, Canada for getting it to us early!
