Boo!

The Worst Witch (The Movie)Mad Monster PartyI’ve looked in bargain bins long enough for one of my favorite Halloween movies. I finally bought The Worst Witch from Amazon because no Halloween is complete without Tim Curry camping it up as the most dreamy Dark Lord known to witchkind.

I also found this other promising movie while out running errands with Mom. Mad Monster Party is a Rankin Bass movie featuring the voice of one Mr. Boris Karloff as Baron Von Frankenstein who is holding a special convention of “The Worldwide Organization of Monsters” to discuss his retirement. Phyllis Diller also lends a voice to The Creature’s Bride and some of the other stars include Count Dracula, The Wolf Man, The Mummy, The Invisible Man, Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde, and more.

Simply put, I can’t wait to watch these treats! :jack:

New Champion!

There’s a new champion in the category of Worst Movie EVER! *drumroll* The Black Dahlia is a huge pile of mess. I finally got around to watching it today, and all I can say is: If you haven’t seen it yet–DON’T. It’s boring, poorly acted, ridiculously scripted, incomprehensibly edited, and horribly scored. Yes, even the music is bad. Even with Scarlett Johansson looking fabulous, there is nothing good I can say about this movie. I wasn’t even happy when it was over because the regret of even watching it had already set in too deeply. Shite!

hobbit.jpgI’m re-reading OoTP–again. I’m surprised by how much I enjoy reading it, but with the details of the movie coming in, I want to be sure I KNOW the story as written, and not as seen through a screenwriter, director, actor, etc. I’m going to pace myself, though, so I’m not finished in a day or two.

With the below freezing temperatures, I’m reminded that my heater isn’t working properly. The temperature stays the correct level in every room except the living room, where I have no vent. I covered the vent to place the armoire over it, and I haven’t gotten around to adding a new vent. Mom said we’d put one in this weekend, so I guess I get to learn about jigsaws and heating ducts. Yay!

istar1.jpgHobbit and Istar are, well, fighting a lot. I *think* they’re playing and it looks like Hob’s fighting back more. I’m glad to see her fight and not run, because he needs to be put in his place sometimes. Overall, it’s a nice little vibe. I do think, however, that he suffers from Stockholm Syndrome or something. He will bite the hell out of Hobbit, me, the furniture, and anything else he can target until I give him a bath. Normally, cats will fight to the death to get out of taking baths, but he LOVES it. After getting a bath, he purrs and calms down and becomes the sweetest thing in the world. Yep, I now have two insane kitties. :jack:

Jump! Jump!

I have decided that I’m going to allow LOST to jump as many Dharma-branded sharks as it wants.

If the spoiler rumors about SGA are true and they’re killing off a perfectly good and entertaining character to bring in some Firefly reject, added to the fact that SG-1 is cancelled, I may find that LOST is all I have left.

*sigh*
