Five Years Nothing

While enjoying the LOTR marathon (again), it struck me that The Return of the King was released five years ago. FIVE YEARS. I can’t get over the thrill of excitement every single time I see any of the trilogy. Five years ago my dad and I stood in freezing cold temperatures to get tickets for Ben and me to see the midnight showing and OMG it truly was frigid; yet worth it.

In the last five years: I saw the movie at midnight, again the next afternoon, and again a few days later. I downloaded it, ripped the audio from the movie, burned it to disc, listened to it non-stop in the car, bought the soundtrack, began collecting action figures, fell in love with Sean Bean and David Wenham, named my cats Hobbit and Istar, made nearly 100 fanvids, journeyed into slash, met wonderful fellow fans, read the book repeatedly, read The Hobbit, The Similrillion, and a few other Tolkien works, rewatched the movies (repeatedly, as well), got the “9” tattoo, scoured online sites and calendar stores for the newest (or leftover) items, and so much more.

It all feels new. Maybe it always will. Can’t wait for the next five years of fandom!

  1. Having read this I thought it was very informative. I appreciate you taking the time and energy to put this content together. I once again find myself spending a lot of time both reading and commenting. But so what, it was still worth it!

  2. I do accept as true with all the ideas you’ve introduced for your post. They are very convincing and will definitely work. Still, the posts are very quick for beginners. Could you please extend them a little from next time? Thank you for the post.

  3. After I initially commented I seem to have clicked the -Notify me when new comments are added- checkbox and from now on each time a comment is added I receive four emails with the exact same comment. Is there an easy method you are able to remove me from that service? Thanks.

  4. And Im running from a standard users account with strict limitations, which I think may be the limiting factor, but Im running the cmd as the system I am currently working on.Rap Instrumentals

  5. Prague’s interesting mix of history, culture, and style ought to get on every vacationer’s container checklist. Whether you have an interest in admiring sensational Gothic and Baroque structures, tasting traditional Czech cuisine as well as beer, or capitalizing on Prague’s vivid nightlife scene – Prague really has something for everybody.

  6. Taliban special forces in camouflage fired their weapons into the air Saturday, bringing an abrupt and frightening end to the latest protest march in the capital by Afghan women demanding equal rights from the new rulers. ??????
