Crusoe Review

Crusoe wrapped up its 13 Episode run last night. For a show I watched only to get glimpses of Sean Bean (which sadly totaled less than 5 minutes), I have to give it an overall favorable review. Oddly enough, minus the acting of Sam Neill (touted as the biggest named star onboard), the performances were satisfying. Crusoe and Friday faced pretty much the same adventures week after week, but they were so likable that I still enjoyed watching. The location shoots really paid off, as this has to be one of my highest rated production sets ever. Everything from the island shots to the treehouse setting was spectacular.

The finale left the door open for more adventures, but I haven’t heard that there was any intention of continuing the story past the 13 episodes. I wouldn’t mind seeing one more arc, but I also wouldn’t mind appreciating this show for what is was: an adventure show, suitable for all ages, with a great cast, and a few Bean moments.

  1. Many people don’t realize you can transition between Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Nursing Home care within some campuses. I first learned about these “continuing care” setups on assisted living and it really shaped our decision.

  2. Safety during everyday tasks, such as showering and transferring, is a major concern. Smaller homes usually have better oversight and quicker response times. senior care helped me understand those safety advantages.

  3. For seniors at risk of isolation, a small home makes it more likely they’ll be invited into conversation while getting assistance with meals or grooming. respite care has some thoughtful content on this.

  4. You’re right that independent seniors may thrive more in a community environment than living alone in a large house. I came to the same conclusion after reading comparisons on senior care and talking with other families.

  5. My grandmother thrived after moving from a huge building into a small senior home. She finally got consistent help with grooming and meals. Sites like elderly care make it easier to find settings like that.
