And just like that, my love of Warehouse 13 is over.
This show had so much going for it, but ruined the dynamic of the show by introducing a new recurring character, Claudia. I could initially excuse the cliche of adding a brilliant, disinterested emo kid, but the portrayal by the actress (who needs a voice coach to explain the difference in making sardonic comments and sounding like you’re vomiting in your mouth) was a major killing point. After talking to Ben, I started to become annoyed at the cliche as well, and now I’m just so full of disappointment that I can no longer watch.
As I said on twitter, it’s like they introduced their version of Scrappy-Doo waaaay too soon. The show didn’t need this extraneous character so soon; the cast was just beginning to take the show and run with it and now there’s this annoying young vomiter stinking up the Warehouse. If anything, what we needed to see was more of Leena, the mysterious, aura reading B&B proprietor. I mean, this cast boasts CCH Pounder for pete’s sake (no pun intended), and she gets fewer episodes than this Claudia? Not on my TV.
