Hello, Sweetie

Our poor Doctor. He’s so harangued by River Song. LOL. Even the brief, surprise greeting of, “Hello, Sweetie,” elicits such a hangdog response that you just want to put your arm around The Doctor and tell him that everything will be okay. Being out of the loop, I had no idea there was a current running through fandom with theories about River. I’m pretty bad to take a plot point at face value and just let the story play out, but now I’m dying to get into the conspiracy theorists’ minds.

That’s the big difference with the new series; it’s smarter. Certainly not to disparage RTD’s helm, which was still largely better than anything else on television, but the nuances now are just a bit more mature and cerebral. Perhaps the least cerebral clue, as I mentioned before, is “The Crack” and though I did not spot the crack in the episode, it’s FINALLY being seen by The Doctor in the preview for next week’s episode. Next week’s episode, by the way, looks to be full of excitement, and motion, and intrigue.

In what I consider to be the mark of greatness for a show, a Twitter friend of mine is just getting into Doctor Who, and I’m proud to have him jump on board with Eleven and Amy. Welcome to the greatest show on Earth. Or Gallifrey. Or Raxacoricofallapatorius. Or, well, you get the picture. With The Doctor and the TARDIS, anything is possible!

  1. Dancing On Ice’s Amber Davies was seen being flung
through the air by skating partner Simon Proulx-Senecal as
they attempted the headbanger during Sunday’s live show.

The former Love Island star, 27, was thrilled as she received 35.5, which
was joint highest score of the series alongside Miles Nazair and his partner Vanessa Bauer.

Amber and Simon performed to Revolting Children from Matilda during Musicals Week, as she became the first contestant
to perform the risky headbanger move this series.

Clearly ecstatic, Amber exclaimed: ‘Thank you! I had a mentally tough week this
week and I was terrified to come out here, so thank you so much.’

The headbanger, or the bounce spin, sees a skater picked up their ankle and spun round by their partner.

contestant to perform the risky move this series

Due to the potential danger, the move is actually
banned by the International Skating Union (ISU), which governs competitive skating.

The return of the judges challenge also took place where the celebrities must perform either a free style jump with two feet leaving the
ice or a solo spin on one foot for a minimum of two revolutions.

Last week Amber topped the leaderboard after whipping the highest series
score from Miles Nazaire as she and Simon earned a whopping 34 points for their Cha-Cha.

The dance saw the Love Island star thrown high and as she
masterfully completed a string of complicated lifts.

Host Holly Willoughby exclaimed: ‘You’ve done it again, that was bold, are you
always that brave the things you are going out there is incredible’.

Amber, who looked sensational in a skimpy and sparkly flamenco frock,
giggled: ‘I am a bit of a daredevil’.

But viewers were left fuming, with many claiming her routine was ‘good, but not that good’
    – and were quick to point out she didn’t do any
    solo skating.

Others expressed their disappointment with the judges’ choice, remarking contestants
like Ryan Thomas and Ricky Norwood challenged themselves into much more solo skating routine
    – contrary to the Love Island star.

Taking to X – formerly known as Twitter – viewers didn’t shy away from sharing their
    opinions.

‘HOW can they score Ryan lower than Amber?! Skated the whole time
on his own, very well too. Amber didn’t leave go
of her partners hand once. Judging is shite this year #DancingOnIce,’
    said one.

A second echoed and added: ‘It’s crazy how Amber
is at the top of the score board with 34.0. She didn’t skate once on her own and the others were way better than her routine.
She’s from an itv show why am I not surprised?

    #DancingOnIce.’

‘I really love Amber & that was a great performance, but
I’m struggling to understand how they can score her that high when she didn’t let go of Simon’s hand the entire time?
Surely she needs to be skating a bit on her own #DancingOnIce,’ penned another person.

A fourth user poked fun and said: ‘How to get the highest score on #DancingOnIce 1.
Don’t let go of your partner 2. Stumble several times Worked
    well for Amber.’

‘How can they score Ryan the same as Amber ?!!? He skated alone and did lifts, she got pushed around!
#DancingOnIce Not right,’ commented furious another viewer.
