Surgicallistic

Well, my grandmother goes under the knife again today. This sucks. Mom has been going non-stop since the last week of June. She needs a break, but there’s no way she’ll take one. She’s in NC again, for the second time in two weeks, after getting only 10 minutes to prepare to leave the first time after coming home from TN. She’s sleeping in the hospital chair in my grandmother’s room, and I’m sure she’s not eating well. I just want her home. Scott is headed to Lewisburg to qualify for the WV Amateur (or Open, I don’t know which) and Dad is just going about his normal things, albeit much lonlier than usual.

I was so confused yesterday that I thought it was Wednesday already. In a small, small way, I’m almost looking forward to going back to work. No, on second thought, strike that. I’m not.

Lazy Posting

I’ve let a lot go by without mentioning it on here. Now that I’ve closed ZeroMuch (well, archived it), I’ll try to write more. Rejoice.

Recently, I’ve had a mini-vacation to TN, seen Ben and Jesse, had poison ivy all over my face (second doctor’s visit in a month…yay), and waited for my grandmother’s surgery to stop giving her problems. I found a really cool Zune clock to add to HobStar (my Zune), so I’m really happy about that. I don’t wear a watch and my sorry TracFone is just not something I’m willing to whip out everytime I want to check the time. Having a clock on my Zune will be perfect because now I can watch Shaun of the Dead AND time the AP exams properly. Heh.

Television-wise, we’re gearing up for a late Summer viewing schedule which includes old Star Trek: Voyager, SGA, Project Runway, Big Brother, and Shear Genius. I’m not overly enthused with the newer shows, especially SGA. I seriously think that unless they lose Dr. Keller, my viewing days are limited. I hate that a show that has meant so much to me has brought about so much disgust, but I can’t help it; she just grates.

Journey’s End

What do I think? I don’t know. The first few minutes went as I thought they would (I’d had a week to revise my previous post’s thoughts; plus I got a hold of some spoilers :wink2: ).

I won’t have anything more to say. I’m not unimpressed and I’m neither happy nor unhappy. I will miss the most faithful companion and her family. The TARDIS ride was one of the happiest moments in recent memory, and I’m glad it got the respect it deserves. That’s it. I got nothin’ else.

What Just Happened?!?

Look at that–it’s been a week since I posted and yet again, The Doctor has me back here again.

Before specifics begin, I’ll just say that I am floored by this episode. The reveal of the enemy, while masterfully handled (not The Master-fully….that was last year), was eclipsed by all the OMG moments.

[cut text=”Here be the mind-blowing”]

Right off the bat, this episode is pure Who. I love that all the action is handled by Jack, Ianto, Gwen, Martha, U.N.I.T., Sarah Jane and Mister Smith, and the ever wonderful Harriet Jones, Former Prime Minister (ha!). Poor Rose. At least she was camped out with the most awesome man left on Earth. I did hope to see Martha’s enormously handsome fiance, but with all the other participants, it’s ok. Jack kissing Ianto and Gwen like a protective dad, Sarah Jane in tears, Rose in tears…all at EXTERMINATE. Gawd, it was so well handled by all. Ladies and Gentleman, we are at war! Gah!

Super Spoiler Ahead….STOP READING NOW

I have to admit–the Rose/Doctor moment had me in major tears. About halfway through the scene, I knew it wouldn’t end well, but I figured it was Rose who was going to be exterminated. Regeneration?!? I can only hope my dreams have been answered! Fandom, as a whole, will be crushed, but OMFG!!!!!!!! Is it true?!? Can The Doctor stop a regeneration once it has begun? He can’t regenerate back into the same looking body, right? A new Doctor–next week! Maybe. Even if we stay with Ten, I won’t mind at this point. [/cut]

I’m  this show.
