Worldly Girl

bscap0116.jpg First of all, Heroes owns. It just does. To have Eccleston (who will probably never be referred to by his character’s name) say, “Fantastic!” was brilliance. Just as I was starting to yell, “Stop showing Claire; no one cares!” they went and got me interested in her again. Damn. In a good way.

In the next three weeks, I will be venturing to the big city of Charleston for class two times and the State ACT conference once. I should get an EZ-Pass and a sublet. Heh. Hopefully, I’ll get to see my Chas buddies a little while I’m in town. The class weekends will be rough, though, because I’ll be getting up at 4:30am, working until I make the 3 hour drive to Charleston, sitting in class until 10:30pm and then going back Saturday for more class from 8am-6pm. Ugh. Hopefully, one more semester and I’ll be finished.

I think I’ll get to bed early tonight. I forgot to turn my alarm clock on after yesterday’s snowday and had I not had a hungry Hobbit waking me up, I may have slept the whole day away. Thanks, Hob!!

Home Again…for good!

He’s home! Istar is home and whining chilling in his plush kitty suite. He looks great and has a lot more spunk than when he went to the vet’s office. I know being alone in the bedroom is hard on him, and I’ll keep him company much of the time. I have to remember that it’s better for him to be alone in there watching television than to be in a crate at the vet’s. Hobbit is NOT pleased with being separated from him, but until he heals, that’s the way it’s going to be. With work kicking into high gear and our internet connections going wonky and spotty, I probably won’t be able to do much browsing during the day, and as promised, I won’t be around here much, either. Take care of each other while I’m away.
Have a great week, everyone!!

Home Again, Home Again

istar.jpgIstar is home from the vet and doing very well. He seems to like his medicine, which is completely opposite of Hobbit’s experience. It took three of us to get Da Hob to take hers; one person to hold her, one person to hold her mouth in place, and one person to squirt the medicine. Little Guy, on the other hand, has to be removed from the medicine bottle, lest he drink it all at once; a much better problem to have. :elf:

There’s a bit too much jumping around from him, and Hobbit’s not taking his return as well as I’d liked, but I’m pretty sure she missed him while he was gone, as she cried a bit at bedtime when he wasn’t here. Now that he’s less likely to attack her a hundred times a day, I think they’ll be fine once he gets the smell of the vet off of him.

I’m still waiting to hear from Ben as to whether he’s going to make it down today or not, and I guess I’ll just keep picking up as if he is :flake:

A-OK

istar1.jpgIstar’s vet visit went extremely well. There had been some concern because one of his, um, male parts had not descended and they were afraid he would need a more extensive surgery to be neutered. Now, his surgery (December 28) should go smoothly with minimal cutting or pain. He finished his vaccinations and even handled the nosedrops like a champ. (Un)fortunately, he’s been knocked out by the medicine and he has slept most of the last two days. Hobbit must be having sympathy side-effects; she’s slept the last two days, too.

My parents are in Dollywood for their annual Christmas trip. I thought they were due back today, but Scott informed me that they aren’t coming back until Wednesday. Wednesday! You’d think they would notify the child responsible for taking care of their cats of their return date, but you’d be wrong.

I miss Heroes. I don’t want to wait for it to come back. I think I miss it even more than SG-1, though it could be due to the fact that once SG-1 comes back, it’s over–for good. ANTM is finished, Heroes is on winter break, SG-1 has been on Winter Break forever now, TAR finishes tonight…I think I’ll start taping all of the CSI eps on Spike just so I’ll have something to watch.
