Why So?

Alright, I’m watching it. So far, the only reason I can think that Heath Ledger is getting so much praise is that he’s the only character of any substance in the movie. Perhaps things will pick up, but it’s not looking too good.

[Edit: Two very enthusiastic thumbs down! Total waste of time.]

[Edit Edit: Oh, lord. I just just checked the time and there’s a whole hour left. Maybe there is hope.]

[Final Edit: Nope. Also, Bale’s Batman voice is incredibly annoying.See Edit #1]

Busy Day

I really shouldn’t say that I had a busy day because out of everyone, I had the easiest time. Scott and Jamie are finishing the upgrades to their new house and without air conditioning (which installs today), it was too hot for the kids to be there. Aunt Jenn to the rescue! Cage and Scotti stayed with me all day yesterday and we had a blast. Well, Cage and I did; Scotti slept most of the day.

Big Wednesday night TV viewing. Hopefully, we’ll see the last of Mango. So many people are anti-Suede that they’re missing out on the true buffoon. Look past the blue and see the MANGO, people!

A Bit More

Yes, another post about Fringe. I’ve watched the pilot about 8 times now, and though there are a few parts that I tend to FF through, I’m hooked. This is my one new show for Fall. The lead actress is an impressive blend of Cate Blanchett and Elizabeth Rohm (Kate on Angel), but she is solid as Olivia Dunham. I’ve never actually seen anything that Joshua Jackson has done prior to this and he tends to grate, but over time I think he’ll lose some of that. There are few people from Oz (as expected), and as usual, they’re good. I could do without Alverez’s socio-political speech, but hopefully that was just a pilot thing.

The show premieres September 9th on FOX. Though I’ve never watched a FOX series, I’m going to make it a point to catch this one. Do me a favor and watch it too so I can find out if EVERYONE is coming back or not…. (you’ll see…..)

Fringe

I’ve had this dl of Fringe for awhile now, but I kept forgetting to watch it. It’s J.J. Abrams’ latest “leaked” pilot for a mysterious, good-looking-people-centered, paranormal drama. LOST again, anyone?!? As if that’s not enough, the African lawyer (or is he?) dude is in it…and he’s a right jerk (or is he?). Twenty minutes in, I can say that it’s intriguing enough. I’ll give it a shot.

Additionally, I am completely retarded to have not recognized Denethor until now, 34 minutes in. Hee!
